Advocacy to the Anne Arundel County Council

    Start early to develop relationships

    • Be political.   Go to events (at a safe distance), contribute to campaigns, volunteer, join & be active in citizens' organizations.

    • Get acquainted with the Council representative for your district (and their legislative aide).  Your Councilmember will want to know you.  You are a constituent.

    • Arrange a meeting or call with your representative to discuss your interests and learn your Councilmember's perspective on issues in your district.

    • Maintain regular contact (at least several times/year) with your Councilmember.

    • If your Council representative doesn't know you by sight and greet you by name, you have work to do.
